Supporting Safe and Positive Colorado Schools

The Office of School Safety provides Colorado schools and communities with the tools and resources to create safe and positive school environments for all Colorado students, pre-kindergarten through higher education.

The three units of the Office of School Safety support Colorado schools:

  • - The School Safety Resource Center provides resources, consultation, training, and technical assistance -

  • - The Crisis Unit training school personnel responds to critical incidents and assists when called upon -

  • - The Grants Unit researches and manages grant opportunities for schools -

School Safety Resource Center (CSSRC)

The mission of the Colorado School Safety Resource Center (CSSRC) is to assist educators, emergency responders, community organizations, school mental health professionals, parents and students to create safe, positive and successful school environments for Colorado students in all pre K-12 and higher education schools.

 

 

 

 

OSS Crisis Unit

The Crisis Unit is established in the Office of School Safety to provide crisis response training to school personnel and make available mental health professionals on a limited basis to assist in the aftermath of a critical incident, when requested.

OSS Grants Unit

The Grants Unit is established in the Office of School Safety to manage available school safety grant funding from state and federal authorities and provide grant training and consultation to schools across Colorado.

The Colorado School Safety Resource Center provides training, technical assistance, consultation and resources to all pre-K through higher education schools. The Grants Unit oversees all state grants for schools and provides workshops on researching and applying for funding.
