Trainings on Educator Safety
Classroom Incident Response Team (CIRT)
This two-hour training provides educational leaders and staff with the essential knowledge and tools to create a Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). The training focuses on developing a structured, efficient, and supportive framework for managing severe behavioral incidents and violent behaviors in the school environment. Participants will learn how to build a team that can effectively respond to a crisis, support those involved, and maintain a safe learning environment.
De-Escalating Potentially Violent Situations
Designed by the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI), this practical and engaging workshop equips participants with the skills and confidence to defuse situations before they escalate into aggression or violence. Intended for all school personnel, this four-hour training focuses on a trauma-informed approach to de-escalation.
Through a blend of theoretical insights and practical applications, the workshop emphasizes the importance of emotional regulation in crisis response and introduces a clear, structured framework for de-escalation. Participants will explore the dynamics of trauma responses, examine their own role in either escalating or calming a situation, and engage in hands-on practice of proven verbal de-escalation techniques.
