Cedar Springs Hospital has shared some helpful words of advice as parents/guardians help their children and teens get ready to return to school:
Ease into it
Gradually move up bedtime by 5–10 minutes each night. You can also try turning off screens 1–2 hours before bed and avoiding caffeine in the afternoon.
Include learning opportunities
To reduce anxiety and stress, begin to incorporate learning activities into your child's routine. This could be reading for 15 minutes before bed or working on math for 10 minutes after lunch.
Go slow
Make gradual and slow changes for the best chance of building lasting and positive routines.
We hope everyone enjoys the end of their summer vacation!
