This new grant, established by Senate Bill 23-241, provides $235,000 to eligible non-profit organizations dedicated to improving school safety.

The ESSIR Grant is designed to fund initiatives that enhance law enforcement’s preparedness and response capabilities for school safety incidents. Grant funds can be used for developing and delivering specialized training programs for Colorado law enforcement.

  • Application Deadline: Friday, September 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM MST
  • Eligibility: Non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status and a proven track record of training law enforcement on school safety incident response.

To support applicants, the OSS will host a series of webinars and Q&A sessions. These events will provide an overview of the grant program, review the application process, and answer specific questions.
