The Office of School Safety, in partnership with the Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP), is excited to announce the 2025-2026 Sources of Strength Funding Application, supported by the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

This is a powerful opportunity to implement a best practice youth suicide prevention project that is proven to save lives by building connections and promoting help-seeking behaviors.

What is Sources of Strength? It's an "upstream" youth suicide prevention model that harnesses the power of peer social networks to strengthen protective factors and positive coping skills. The mission is to prevent suicide, bullying, and substance misuse by creating a culture of connection and care.

This funding can cover:

  • Initial Training Costs with National Trainers.
  • Licensing Costs for sustained implementation with Local Trainers.

Funding is limited. OSP will prioritize schools and districts committed to establishing a long-term, sustainable program by eventually utilizing Certified Local Trainers. OSP will fund sites with National Trainers for a maximum of three years, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis.
