The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has shared a new resource to help kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) schools and their law enforcement and community partners create tailored approaches to addressing anonymous threats of violence, including those received on social media. The toolkit outlines steps school leaders can take to assess and respond to anonymous threats, better prepare for and prevent future threats, and work in coordination with law enforcement and other local partners when threats arise.

Once again a senseless shooting has happened at a school with innocent lives lost.  We mourn for those victims, their families and friends in Georgia.

The Colorado Office of School Safety has put together a list of bills that have passed into law that relate to school safety.

The Physical Safety Committee of the interagency School Safety Working Group met a number of times in 2023 and 2024 in an effort to create a list of guidelines for Colorado schools when designing and/or updating their campuses and building security. 

The schedule for the Statewide Crisis Response Group, Problematic Sexual Behaviors Group, SRA Toolkit Online Platform Group, and more has been released.

 The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) has developed a "free, Consumer Reports-style tool can help you decide which evidence-based program helps you embed consistent SEL opportunities into students’ educational experiences."

"Programs are designated as SELect (met or exceeded all criteria), Promising (met or exceeded most criteria), or SEL-Supportive (met evidence criteria but did not fully meet design criteria)"

Campus Safety Magazine has released an article on the importance of having a School Key Control Policy and how to write one.  

It has been a full year since the Grants Unit was created and they have completed a report on all of their accomplishments during that year.
